Our story
Hi, I’m Michelle - a design professional with 20+ years in the creative world, based just outside Toronto. My career has spanned branding, marketing, and graphic design, but stationery? That’s where my heart beats loudest. There’s just something magical about transforming paper into pieces that make people stop, stare, and feel.
Back in 2012, my best friend Alisha and I co-founded Events by Whim, a wedding planning company that thrived on creating celebrations with personality. While I adored the planning side, I couldn’t resist the pull of paper. That led to RSVP by Whim, my first full dive into custom stationery, where I discovered I’d found my lane.
Fast forward, and now we’re here: June + Opal Paper Co. A name woven with personal meaning - June (my birth month and a nickname from my late aunt) and Opal (Alisha’s son’s birthstone). It’s a reminder that everything we create is rooted in love, legacy, and a little sparkle.
Today, June + Opal is all about crafting stationery that’s as intentional as it is beautiful. Elegant but never stuffy, timeless but with a wink, designed to set the tone for life’s biggest moments. Because your paper goods should be anything but forgettable.
